Karplus-Strong

Karplus-Strong is a simple physical modeling method for plucked string sounds. A short burst of noise is fed into a delay line that loops back on itself through a low pass filter. The delay time sets the pitch, and the filter makes the sound fade and soften like a real string.

Alex Strong and Kevin Karplus described the method in 1983. It can be patched in a modular with a delay, a filter, and a noise source.
