Drone

A drone is a sustained tone or texture that continues for a long time without a clear beginning or end. In a modular, a drone is easy to make: leave an oscillator running through a filter and VCA with no envelope.

Detuned oscillators, slow modulation, and feedback add movement. Drones can be a bed under other sounds or the whole piece.
