Calibration is the process of adjusting a module’s internal trimmers so it meets its design values. For oscillators, this usually means setting the scale so each volt changes pitch by exactly one octave, and setting the initial tuning.
Most modern modules are calibrated at the factory, but analog oscillators can drift out of calibration over time. A tuner and a precise voltage source make the job easier.
