Tuning

Tuning is the process of setting the pitch of an instrument so it matches a reference or a chosen system. For oscillators, this means adjusting coarse and fine controls until the pitch matches a tuner or another instrument, and checking that it tracks across octaves.

Tuning also describes the system of notes in use, such as 12 tone equal temperament or just intonation. Analog oscillators may need retuning as they warm up.
