Scale

A scale is a set of notes arranged in ascending order within an octave. Common examples are the major, natural minor, and pentatonic scales.

In a modular, a quantizer constrains a voltage to the notes of a scale, so random or sequenced pitches fit a key. Many quantizers let you pick or draw custom scales, including microtonal ones.
