A band-pass filter (BPF) allows a specific range of frequencies, centered around a cutoff frequency, to pass through while attenuating frequencies outside this range. It can be used to isolate a particular frequency range, and is essentially a combination of a low-pass and a high-pass filter used simultaneously.
