Velocity

Velocity is a measurement of how fast or hard a key is pressed. In MIDI, it is a value from 0 to 127 that is sent with each note on message.

A MIDI to CV module can convert velocity to a voltage, and that voltage can control loudness, filter cutoff, or any other parameter, making playing feel more expressive.
