Serge Tcherepnin is an American designer of electronic instruments who created the Serge synthesizer in the 1970s. The design uses small, multi-purpose modules with a focus on modulation and patching.
Serge systems use banana jacks and short patch cables, and are known for their unusual, flexible sound. Several companies now make Serge-style modules for Eurorack.
