Jack

A jack is a socket on a module’s panel that a patch cable plugs into. An input jack receives a signal, and an output jack sends one.

Eurorack uses 3.5 mm mono jacks, which are the same size as headphone connectors, while larger formats often use 1/4 inch jacks. Panels label jacks, but nothing about the plug itself says what kind of signal it carries.
