Ribbon controller

A ribbon controller is a long, thin strip that senses where a finger touches along its length and outputs a voltage matching that position. Sliding a finger changes the voltage smoothly, which is useful for gliding pitch, theremin-like playing, and expressive modulation.

Because it has no fixed steps, a ribbon allows tuning and glides that a standard keyboard cannot.
