Stereo is a way of reproducing sound using two channels, left and right, so that sounds can appear to come from different positions. Most Eurorack modules are mono, so stereo is created with panning, stereo effects, or paired oscillators.
A patch that uses two slightly different voices, one on each side, often sounds wider than one that is simply panned.
