Rob Hordijk (1958 to 2022) was a Dutch synthesizer designer and builder, best known for the Benjolin, the Blippoo Box, and the Hordijk Modular System.
He was fascinated by modulation, the idea that in a modular synthesizer every function can affect another, and he held that how modules affect each other matters more than the modules themselves. The Blippoo Box applies chaos theory to produce sounds that are unpredictable but still have a recognizable character.
