A power supply converts wall power into the low voltages that modules run on. Eurorack uses +12 V and -12 V, with an optional +5 V rail for some digital modules.
Each rail has a current rating in milliamps (mA), and the total current drawn by your modules must stay under it. A supply that is too small can cause noise or unstable behavior.
