Dry/wet is a control that sets the balance between the dry signal, which is the original sound, and the wet signal, which is the sound after the effect. Fully dry passes only the original, and fully wet passes only the processed sound.
Many effects modules have a dry/wet control, and a voltage-controlled version lets the balance move with a modulation source.
