Clock multiplier

A clock multiplier is a module that outputs more pulses than it receives, such as two, four, or eight for every incoming clock pulse. It is the opposite of a clock divider.

It is used to add faster rhythmic subdivisions, such as turning quarter notes into sixteenth notes, while staying locked to the same tempo. Because it has to predict where the next pulse will come, it needs a stable clock input to stay accurate.
