Arpeggiator

An arpeggiator takes a set of notes, usually a chord, and plays them one after another in a repeating pattern. Common patterns include up, down, up and down, and random.

The speed follows a clock, and some arpeggiators add octave range, gate length, and rhythm controls. In a modular system, an arpeggiator may be a dedicated module or a sequencer with a note input.
