Line level

Line level is the nominal signal strength used between audio equipment such as mixers and interfaces. It is much lower than the level of a typical modular output, which can reach about 10 V peak to peak.

Plugging a strong modular output straight into a line input can clip or distort it. Use an output module with a level control, or turn down the signal before it leaves the case.
